Feelings that are difficult to say aloud

A parent may feel angry, resentful, helpless, or desperate and then feel guilty for having those emotions. Suppressing them does not make the circumstances easier; safe acknowledgment can make room for support.

The loneliness of being misunderstood

When others offer ordinary parenting advice for extraordinary circumstances, parents can feel even more isolated. Connection with people who understand attachment trauma can be profoundly relieving.

You are still a person

Your identity is larger than the crisis you are managing. Your relationships, health, preferences, and future matter. Support should help you reconnect with those parts of yourself.
